Lunagirl PictureBooks: Caldecott's Nursery Books. 16 Complete Books in digital format. Illustrations and text pages.

100s of images taken from the complete collection of 16 antique Caldecott nursery books, printable for cards crafts altered art scrapbooking.

Beautiful illustrations featuring nursery rhymes, animals, Victorian children, ladies & men. Many are in color, many are line drawings with a sepia tint. Many have text of the stories and rhymes.

Randolph Caldecott's picture books were among the favorites during the Golden Age of Illustration. Although most people are aware of the prestigious Caldecott Medal, awarded annually to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children, and the Caldecott Honor Book awards, fewer are familiar with the artist for whom it was deservedly named.  Every Christmas, from 1878 until his death in 1886 at the early age of 39 Caldecott released two picture books of nursery rhymes or stories. Each Christmas the release of the two books was eagerly anticipated, as Caldecott delighted the 19th century public with his exquisite illustrations of nursery rhymes and childhood stories.  The Complete Caldecott contains all 16 Nursery books by Randolph Caldecott.

Lunagirl Images has digitalized many favorite children's books from the late 1800s, and put them in a beautiful browsing program.  Browse the books page by page or scan through always visible scrolling thumbnail images. The focus is on the illustrations themselves, so that the reader can easily print out any and all of the pictures. You can of course print out the pages of text as well if you want to create facsimiles of the original books. The colorful illustrations, rendered by the most famous picture book artists of the time, have a WOW factor sadly lacking in most modern illustrations.

Use these Victorian Era prints to decorate the nursery or classroom. Older children and adults will enjoy them as well.

Great for card making and jewelry, as well as gift tags, and labels for handcrafted items. These classic illustrations are lovely for ornaments, primitives, decoupage & other paper crafts. Use in fabric crafts or to make kitchen magnets. Add to your scrapbooking pages, altered art, collage, and mixed media. Makes a wonderful & unique gift for anyone who uses vintage or antique styles in arts and crafts.
