Lunagirl PictureBooks: 16 Complete Walter Crane Illustrated Books. 100s of images taken from 16 antique books, illustrations and text pages, printable for cards crafts altered art scrapbooks jewelry.
Walter Crane, Victorian Era designer and illustrator, was one of the most popular Victorian illustrators of children's books. He, along with Randolph Caldecott and Kate Greenaway, are considered the strongest contributors to the nursery motif that developed in the 19th century. Walter Crane also illustrated books for William Morris, with whom he developed a close friendship. Walter Crane's exquisite illustrations, reflecting the influence of the Pre-Raphaelites and sensuous Art Nouveau, continue to delight. His artistic trademarks of strong clear lines, bright colors, and flatness of form are often recognized even by those unfamiliar with this remarkable artist. Included in this broad collection of complete books are examples of his illustration work for both children and adults. Enjoy these works from the Golden Age of Illustration!
